Tomorrow or the day after I'm goin back to Florida. Last time I was there apparently I was rolling around on the beach in white boots. Or something. I remember some muscle car too and a producer who had a girlfriend and I was bummed. Then I went to some Baby Phat party where Mr. Simmons showed up INSTEAD of Kimora which is totally unacceptable and apparently this was before their divorce or seperation or whatever they're going thru. I don't say that lightly I know it's probably hard for them :( . If you don't know me you might think I'm being sarcastic, but I'm not.


This is the "set" for Miami ink where my friend and I went in around 11pm on a Friday after hours cause his homeboy doesn't want to be filmed and still works at night. This was where I got the pink heart tattoo on my right ta ta all Marie Antoinette style or as I imagined Marie Antoinette to have a little pink heart pooching out of her chest all fancy like. Yea that's me. Cept this little pink tattoo didn't heal quite right because it's kind of a portion of a pink heart that I have to fill in with a lipstick pencil and whenever guys see it not filled in I mention that I'm going to get it touched up and they always say, "No don't I like it!" and I'm convinced it's cause they like that I have a damaged broken heart.

Theoretically. Or visually, at least.

But yea...where should I go party in MIAMI? Let a lady know.

Ran into (& met for the first time) Mr. Dj Renato at the Beat Swap Meet. I dug around the swap meet for a couple hours, found some bass & got a testosterone headache by the end (and spent a little over what I had planned). He was selling some boogie/soul & some hip hop upstairs. Either way he's going to be at Funky Sole this SATURDAY which has moved itself to the Echoplex now.

In the land of internet and awesome ladies like this are hecka few and far between. But this is my homegirl if not cosmically but maybe electronically. Maybe both. I donno...the stars haven't told me our FUTURE fully....YET.

lean forward and say something real

I feel in love with Dash Shaw's comics around 3 or 4 years ago. The first one I read was Love Eats Brain which completely floored me, knocked me in the chest and made me feel that I was in the hands of someone who put his heart into it. When I mentioned my fondness for Love Eats Brains to him he told me his newer ones were better. I'm thinking he probably doesn't have the perspective cause I still hold Love Eats Brains as one of my top favorite comics. Its' simply intuitive & sincere, which I love. This video is a trailer for BodyWorld which you can find up online on his site. You should also pick up The Mother's Mouth which I soaked up in an afternoon. Here's an entry I did on him back in August.

On display in the gallery are pictures from the book Punk 365 by Holly George-Warren. They'll be up til December 30th and you should go look at them if you care about anything. Theresa Kereakes has some photos innit and she's phenomenal times ten. The link is her blog and you should go read it.

The gallery is in the back of this shop I heard all about but kept driving by and never stopped at. Now I will be stopping at Wacko. Yay! For a moment I felt the interior of my next place floating all around the insides of this place The staff was incredibly nice and I got to catch up with Lee who I officially hadn't seen for three years and we realized this because he quit smoking on our last adventure of thrifting in Arizona. He found a Bowie press kit and I found some amazing southwestern jewelry. My boots melted on the pavement there it was disgustingly hot. I also found one record that I held onto but put it back deciding I didn't want to carry it on the plane back to Denver and I've been kicking myself since (I have few regrets) because it was Wind in the Willows which was Deborah Harry's first band. Lee, of course knew this, snatched it up with no regrets. RATS.
