Ran into (& met for the first time) Mr. Dj Renato at the Beat Swap Meet. I dug around the swap meet for a couple hours, found some bass & got a testosterone headache by the end (and spent a little over what I had planned). He was selling some boogie/soul & some hip hop upstairs. Either way he's going to be at Funky Sole this SATURDAY which has moved itself to the Echoplex now.

lean forward and say something real

I feel in love with Dash Shaw's comics around 3 or 4 years ago. The first one I read was Love Eats Brain which completely floored me, knocked me in the chest and made me feel that I was in the hands of someone who put his heart into it. When I mentioned my fondness for Love Eats Brains to him he told me his newer ones were better. I'm thinking he probably doesn't have the perspective cause I still hold Love Eats Brains as one of my top favorite comics. Its' simply intuitive & sincere, which I love. This video is a trailer for BodyWorld which you can find up online on his site. You should also pick up The Mother's Mouth which I soaked up in an afternoon. Here's an entry I did on him back in August.

Okay...this one: Killing Spree. I was curious. Friends of friends...of internet friends. And human fleshly friends. I trust and imagine the content to be very good. But since I don't know them personally I can only hope the vibes are inviting and no LA bullshit (please). So I'll probably go and enjoy the sounds...cause this is pretty much up my alley times ten. Dave the Chimp's video One Line. He made an animation of the graffiti he does which is all done with one line...instead of tagging his name he does draw rings.

I found out about Dave the Chimp's artwork when I found out he made the videos for Robots In Disguise. If you know me I like robots, puppets & doin' it..and all of those things happen in that video.

Tim & Eric are going on tour. I saw their live stuff at the Troubadour 6 months ago or maybe more I have noooo idea at this point. One of the guys in their act (not Tim & Eric) invited me to the Rainbow Room and told me to ask for "The Captain" and they would lead me to his table (he said). Point is you have to go. If it's not sold out. And the dude who I dj'ed with on April Fools will be opening sir DJ DouggPound.

i like the way that you move

i've been making googly eye pendants so when i came upon the googly eye cru based out of Brooklyn you know i was happy. how could i not be? the pictures explain themself and here's 4 questions with them...

1. How far have your eyes traveled to be stuck up?

We've been to japan, hong kong, canada, all over the us, mexico, puerto rico.

2. Do you give out your stickers or are you private about who you share them with?

We totally share them. The whole point is to animate the world. So many people are interested it's starting to get to expensive for us to give them away so we are going to start to sell sticker and pin packages.
3. Show me one of your favorites?

My favoriate is the one where we put it on the bottom of a bums feet that was passed out infront of nublu on ave c...it's on our myspace pics

4. Google eye muses?

I'm pretty psyched out of my fuckin mind because I think I'm going to get a chance to see Earthless for their record release show May 17th @ The Casbah in San Diego. Their album "RHYTHMS FROM A COSMIC SKY" comes out that day on Tee Pee Records . You can READ more about them on the Tee Pee site (and preorder). I could convince you with a bio and words of their past endeavours but how about I just say that if you want to be epically slayed into a land of rolling hills where you're thrown into black forests where the trees have knobby hands grabbing and clawing at your clothing as it is torn of your limbs and freedom arrives as the vibrations of awesome sink into every pore then you should listen to/buy/go see Earthless.
